Teens Run DC Volunteers Needed

My good friend Jeff Horowitz, author, ultra marathoner, coach, and trainer is involved with yet another amazing organization. If you are in/around the D.C. area, please check them out. You may be just what they need to help change the lives of youth in the Nation’s Capitol. I’m posting this info for Jeff as a favor to help spread the word.

MENTOR ONE YOUTH. CHANGE TWO LIVES.

Teens Run DC (TRDC) is recruiting mentors now for our 2012–13 season! TRDC partners with DC public schools to empower at-risk youth ages 12-18 through a youth mentoring and distance running program.

Run or walk with a student and you will together set and achieve goals for training, racing, and life. No running or coaching experience required. Commitment: We all meet at the National Mall on Saturday mornings for a 60-90 minute workout, and you’ll keep in touch with your student once a week by phone or e-mail.

Help us create a community these kids can be a part of!
